UPDATE...

PRAISE THE LORD...
Dr. Gonzalez just gave us good news about Cyndi's surgery! He found one small tumor (1.7 cm) on the tip of her appendix. So Dr. Gonzalez took her appendix out. He said that he checked every inch of her stomach, liver, kidney, bowel, colon...The only other thing that he found was two spots on her uterus that he took a biopsy of. He showed the spots on her uterus to a Gynecologist and he said they didn't look bad but wanted a biopsy done anyway. Dr. Gonzalez also said that besides the two spots on her uterus it looked good and that her ovaries looked good too, which is great news for Aidan to have siblings!

Dr. Gonzalez didn't treat Cyndi's abdomen with chemotherapy because he didn't think there was any reason to, which is great because he would have had to do a very high concentration of chemotherapy. If Cyndi had to be treated with chemo it would have made the recovering longer and harder. He was very excited that he only found the one tumor. Cyndi will have to have follow up CT scans done every 3-6 months or so to make sure that nothing else pops up that they didn't find.

Dr. Gonzalez said that if she felt well enough that she wouldn't have to spend the night in the hospital, but we're going make her so that she can rest! He said that if the tumor would have been over 2 cm he would have also removed her right colon. The surgery stayed laparoscopic, which means that she only has a few tiny incisions instead of having to open up her entire abdomen. The surgery only lasted about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, which was encouraging.

We are so excited that something was found and that it was removed without having to be very extensive. Thank you so much for all your support and prayers, it made a huge impact for us! We were overwhelmed with the blessings that we have received during this time from everyone. We're jumping up and down with thankfulness and joy! God is good and he is faithful. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Praise the Lord! What an answer to prayer. Thank you so much for calling to let me know the good news. That was a great message to get when we got off the plane in Fort Lauderdale! It was great seeing all of you. Hopefully we'll see you down here before too long!

I have been praying for you Cyndi and believing that God will work this all out for good. I wish I could be there to be more supportive. Sounds like you have an amazing network of family and friends who are amazing and taking great care of you.
I'm so thankful to hear that things were not as bad as they could have been and that God has obviously been working miracles! You are so full of faith and He is blessing you for that.
I love you very much and miss you!
Love, Leah (and Nate)
